The invention relates to a process for the production of carbacyclins of formula I (see fig.I) in which R1 can be a straight-chain or branched C1-C7 alkyl group, a straight-chain or branched C2-C7 alkenyl group or a straight-chain or branched C2-C7 alkinyl group and R2, R3 can be the same or different and can mean hydrogen, C1-C2-alkyl, chlorine or bromine or, together with the double bond, a triple bond, characterized in that a bicyclic ketone of formula II (see fig.II) in which R1, R2 and R3 have the meanings indicated above, is reacted with 5-10 equivalents of a reagent of formula VI Image (VI), in the presence of 8-12 equivalents of a base, at 0-40° for 0.5 to 4 hours in the solvents dimethoxyethane, 1,3-dimethylimidazolidin-2-one, dimethylformamide, dimethyl-sulfoxide, tetrahydrofuran, toluene, dibenzo-18-crown-6 or in their mixtures.

I), où R1 peut être un alkyle C1-C7 à chaîne droite ou ramifiée, un alcényle C2-C7 à chaîne droite ou ramifiée ou un alcynyle C2-C7 à chaîne droite ou ramifiée, R2 et R3 peuvent être les mêmes ou différents et représenter de l'hydrogène, un alkyle C1-C2, un atome de chlore ou de brome ou, en association avec la double liaison, une triple liaison; on fait réagir une cétone bicyclique de formule II (voir fig. II), dans laquelle R1, R2 et R3 ont la signification donnée ci-dessus, avec 5 à 10 équivalents d'un réactif de formule VI Image (VI), en présence de 8 à 12 équivalents d'une base, à 0-40 degrés, pendant 0,5 à 4 heures dans les solvants diméthoxyéthane, 1,3-diméthylimidazolidin-2-one, diméthylformamide, sulfoxyde de diméthyle, tétrahydrofurane, toluène, dibenzo-18-crown-6 ou leurs mélanges.
