A process for demulsification of a water-in-oil emulsion is described which comprises mixing the emulsion with an organic liquid and then with a water miscible organic species which is preferably an alcohol. The process is of particular interest in the recovery and reuse of emulsion explosive materials. A cost effective method for the reuse of waste emulsion explosives is achieved.

Le procédé est particulièrement intéressant dans le domaine de la récupération et de la réutilisation des matériaux de fabrication des explosifs à émulsion.
