The present invention relates to separation of X- and Y-sperm cells from each other by centrifugation in a colloidal density medium. In the method X and Y sperm cells can be separated from each other in a medium formula which has a density close to that of X and Y sperm cells of the species in question. The method is simple and rapid and provides highly purified X and Y sperm cells, respectively in high yield.

La présente invention concerne la séparation de spermatozoïdes X et X par centrifugation dans un milieu à densité colloïdale. Le procédé de l'invention permet de séparer les spermatozoïdes X et Y dans une formule de support qui possède une densité proche de celle des spermatozoïdes X et Y de l'espèce en question. Le procédé de l'invention est simple et rapide et permet d'obtenir des spermatozoïdes X et Y de grande pureté et avec un rendement élevé.
