Method for manufacturing cladding tubes for fuel and tubes for construction of fuel rod skeletons made of zirconium-based alloy for nuclear reactors and use of the method. The tubes will be ultrasmooth grounded after conservative manufacturing regarding all steps of manufacturing from melting of blocks to the final vaccuum annealing, essentially in the final dimension, to a surface roughness of <=0.2 µmRa at which the tubes outer surface will be grounded by a belt grinding machine with a belt device consisting of conventional SiC- based belts, so called "dressed" SiC-based belts with cotton back and conventional SiC-cork belts. The tubes may possibly be polished after ultrasmooth grinding with wheel to a surface roughness ~0.25µmRa.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de fabrication de tubes d'alliage de zirconium de gainage de combustible et de tubes constituant les squelettes des barres de combustible de réacteurs nucléaires, ainsi que sur l'utilisation dudit procédé. Les tubes après être passés par toutes les étapes classiques de la fabrication depuis la fusion des blocs jusqu'au recuit final sous vide sont soumis à un polissage extérieur ultra-fin jusqu'à un fini de <= µmRa, à l'aide d'une polisseuse à ruban utilisant successivement des rubans classiques au SiC, des rubans au SiC garnis ou "habillés" à substrat coton, et des rubans classiques au SiC-liège. Les tubes peuvent en outre subir après le polissage ultra-fin un polissage au disque jusqu'à un fini < 0,25 µmRa.
