Novel sodium channel blocking compounds tetrodotoxm galactopyranosides of formula I were isolated and puri-fied by HPLC and identified further through IR, NMR, GC, and MS. The compounds have a galactopyranosyl moiety attached to C11 of tetrodotoxin and retain the analgesic activity of the latter. Pharmaceutical compositions and medical uses thereof are further disclosed.
L'invention porte sur de nouveaux composés galactopyranosides de tétrodotoxine de formule (I), qui bloquent les canaux sodiques et qui ont été isolés et purifiés par CLHP et identifiés par infrarouge, RMN, chromatographie en phase gazeuse et spectrométrie de masse. Les composés ont une fraction galactopyranosyle fixée à C11 de la tétrodotoxine et conservent l'activité analgésique de cette dernière. L'invention porte en outre sur des compositions pharmaceutiques et sur leurs utilisations médicales.
