The present invention is directed in part to methods and materials for identifying and evaluating the molecular events associated with cellular reprogramming. More particularly, the invention identifies one or more "expression events" occurring within cells, tissues, embryos, and/or animals that signal developmental competence or lineage-specific development. These expression events can be used to efficiently screen and select cells, tissues, embryos, and/or animals that are competent to undergo reprogramming from amongst a background of incompetent cells, tissues, embryos, and/or animals. Moreover, methods and molecules able to induce such expression events can be identified and used to induce competence in otherwise incompetent cells, tissues, embryos, and/or animals.
La présente invention porte sur des procédés et des matériaux d'identification et d'évaluation des événements moléculaires associés à la reprogrammation cellulaire. Cette invention permet d'identifier notamment un ou plusieurs <= événements d'expression >= se produisant dans les cellules, les tissus, les embryons et/ou les animaux et qui signalent une compétence de développement ou un développement spécifique à la lignée. Ces événements d'expression peuvent être utilisés pour cribler et sélectionner efficacement des cellules, des tissus, des embryons et/ou des animaux qui sont compétents pour subir une reprogrammation à partir d'un échantillon de contrôle de cellules, tissus, embryons et/ou animaux incompétents. L'invention porte de plus sur des procédés et des molécules capables d'induire ces événements d'expression qui peuvent être identifiés et utilisés pour induire la compétence dans d'autres cellules, tissus, embryons et/ou animaux incompétents.
