The invention relates to a method for preventing or delaying bacterial sporulation in the broke system of a board or paper machine by lowering the content of transition metals in the broke to a level unfavourable for sporulation. Preferably bacterial cells present in the broke system of the board or paper machine are not substantially killed by the procedure used for lowering the content of the transition metals. The invention further relates to a method for producing packaging board or packaging paper having a low bacterial spore content.

L'invention concerne un procédé de prévention ou de retardement de sporulation bactérienne dans le système de cassés de fabrication d'une machine à carton ou à papier par la réduction de la teneur en métaux de transition dans les cassés de fabrication à un niveau défavorable à la sporulation. De préférence, des cellules bactériennes présentes dans le système de cassés de fabrication de la machine à carton ou à papier ne sont pas sensiblement éliminées par la procédure utilisée pour réduire la teneur en métaux de transition. L'invention concerne par ailleurs un procédé de production de carton d'emballage ou de papier d'emballage ayant une faible teneur en spores bactériennes.
