An ice scraper blade for cleaning and levelling ice with ice scraping equipment includes a beam having a bottom wall and front and rear upright walls extending upwardly from opposing edge of the bottom wall in a U-shaped cross section. A blade with a bevelled scraping edge is secured beneath the bottom wall of the beam in alignment below an attachment mechanism for securing the assembly to the ice scraping equipment. The beam is hollow with an open top end and a plurality of structural webs spanning between front and rear sides of the beam at spaced positions therealong so that the beam can be clamped onto the ice scraping equipment without substantial distortion thereof. The walls of the beam and the structural webs are integrally cast of metal to minimize thermal deflection resulting from changing environments between the manufacturing of the beam and the use of the beam on an ice surface. In some embodiments a clamp bar clamps the blade between the clamp bar and the bottom wall of the beam to secure the blade to the beam.
