A process for mass colouring high molecular weight organic material by using a pyrimidopteridine of formula (I) and/or (II) or a mixture thereof, wherein A, B, C and D are each independently of one another -NH2, -OH, hydrogen, C1-C4- alkyl; phenyl, biphenyl or naphthyl which are unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, -OH, -NH2, C1-C4alkyl or C1-C4alkoxy; -NHR1, -N(R1)2 or formula (1), wherein R1 is C1-C4alkyl; phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C1-C4alkyl or C1-C4alkoxy, or -COXR2, X is a direct bond, -O- or -NH- , and R2 is C1-C4alkyl; phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by halogen, C1-C4alkyl or C1-C4alkoxy, with the proviso that at least two of the radicals A, B, C and D are -NH2 or -OH.

L'invention concerne un procédé destiné à la coloration en masse de matière au organique de poids moléculaire élevé, au moyen d'une pyrimidoptéridine de la formule I et/ ou II, ou d'un mélange de celles-ci, où A, B, C et D représentent chacun, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, -NH2, -OH, un hydrogène, un alkyle C1-C4; un phényle, un biphényle ou un naphtyle non substitués ou substitués par un halogène, -OH, -NH2, un alkyle C1-C4 ou un alcoxy C1-C4; -NHR1, N(R1)2, ou la formule (1), dans laquelle R1 est un alkyle C1-C4; un phényle non substitué ou substitué par un halogène, un alkyle C1-C4 ou un alcoxy C1-C4, ou -COXR2, X est une liaison directe, -O- ou -NH-, et R2 est un alkyle C1-C4; un phényle non substitué ou substitué par un halogène, un alkyle C1-C4 ou un alcoxy C1-C4, à condition qu'au moins deux des radicaux A, B, C et D représentent -NH2 ou -OH.
