The invention provides cell permeable peptides and peptide agents that inhibit anti-apoptotic processes in cancer cells to promote tumor cell death, as well as a method for providing therapeutic treatment for cancer. The composition may be delivered in conjunction with a conventional chemotherapeutic agent to provide a synergistic effect that significantly increases the effectiveness of the chemotherapeutic agent to destroy cancer cells. The invention also provides kits or systems for cancer therapy, comprising at least one peptide agent for inhibiting the anti-apoptotic effects of NF-kB and at least one chemotherapeutic agent for stimulating the cellular apoptotic pathway.
L'invention concerne des peptides et des agents peptidiques perméables aux cellules, qui inhibent les processus anti-apoptotiques dans des cellules cancéreuses afin de promouvoir la mort des cellules cancéreuses, ainsi qu'une méthode de traitement du cancer. La composition selon l'invention peut être administrée en association avec un agent chimiothérapeutique classique afin d'obtenir un effet synergique qui augmente sensiblement l'efficacité de l'agent chimiothérapeutique dans la destruction des cellules cancéreuses. L'invention concerne également des kits ou des systèmes de traitement du cancer contenant au moins un agent peptidique destiné à inhiber les effets anti-apoptotiques de NF-kB, et au moins un agent chimiothérapeutique destiné à stimuler la voie apoptotique cellulaire.
