Application number: Date of Filing: Patent number: Date of Issue: Title of Design: "Method for varying the curvature of the toe seam in hosiery with a sewing machine and a device for carrying out said method." Abstract To vary the curvature of the toe seam in hosiery with a sewing machine for sewing toes, use is made of both a horizontal rotating circular surface to support the flattened point of the hose to be sewn with an upper coaxial disk with alternating vertical movement and firmly rotating in order to hold the end of the hose firmly during sewing. It includes: -the means (14, 16) to separately take up the stitches in several places, at the free end of the flattened toe of the hose to be sewn extending beyond the rotating sewing plane(4); -pneumatic means to activate and deactivate said means (14, 16) for taking up the hose; -means to set said means (14,16) to take up the hose for movement in a straight line of the hose in a lengthwise direction going away from the sewing surface (4) in order to obtain tension, that is, a stretching of the fabric of the toe of the hose that was taken up by these means (14,16), and respectively getting closer to the rotating sewing surface in order to obtain the movement in a straight line for return to the starting position after the hose has been released; -means for synchronization of the means for taking up the hose with the above-mentioned disk of the sewing machine for sewing toes.
