Described is a material sample for testing material properties under biaxial load as well as a method therefor. The material sample has a circular disk shape and, for rotation about the center line thereof, is provided with an integrally formed hub. The edge of the material sample and the hub are thicker than the ring section of the material sample located in between. In one embodiment, the ring section is designed with an annular concave fillet concentric to the hub and the concave fillet may extend from the edge to the hub and have a continuous curvature over its width. In the method, it is rotated about its center line at least at 100,000 rpm, preferably at 150,000 rpm ~ 10,000 rpm.

L'invention concerne un échantillon de matériau pour l'essai de propriétés de matériau sous contrainte biaxiale ainsi qu'un procédé associé. L'échantillon de matériau se présente sous la forme d'une plaque circulaire et comporte un moyeu façonné permettant la rotation de l'échantillon autour de son axe central. Le bord de l'échantillon de matériau et le moyeu sont plus épais que la partie annulaire de l'échantillon de matériau, qui se trouve entre le bord et le moyeu. Selon un mode de réalisation, la partie annulaire comporte une gorge annulaire concentrique par rapport au moyeu, ladite gorge pouvant s'étendre du bord au moyeu et présenter une courbure continue sur sa largeur. Selon le procédé, l'échantillon de matériau est entraîné en rotation autour de son axe central à au moins 100 000 tr/min, de préférence à 150 000 tr/min ± 10 000 tr/min.
