There is disclosed a novel solvent-depletion process for making an avermectin/zein composition and the composition itself, which has excellent photostability and unexpected bioavailability to foliar-feeding insects. The process consists of depleting a dilute acidic, basic or alcoholic solvent from an emulsified solution of avermectin, zein, and dilute solvent.

L'invention se rapporte à un nouveau procédé d'appauvrissement de solvant afin d'obtenir une composition d'avermectine/zéine et à la composition elle-même, qui possède une excellente photostabilité et une biodisponibilité inattendue sur les insectes se nourrisant de feuilles. Le procédé consiste à appauvrir un solvant dilué acide, basique ou à l'alcool à partir d'une solution émulsifiée d'avermectine, de zéine et du solvant dilué.
