CA 2072176

A reagent for coagulating blood for measuring blood coagulation ability containing coagulation factor activating substance such as tissue thromboplastin, phospholipid and thrombin, calcium ion, and high molecular substance such as high molecular vinyl and high molecular polysaccharide. By adding high molecular substance to the reagent, the turbidi- ty change due to blood coagulation is increased, and hence the changing quantity of transmitted light or scattered light increase, thereby making it possible to detect more accurately. Besides, by adjusting the electric conductivi- ty, pH and osmotic pressure to proper values, the turbidity change due to blood coagulation may be further amplified.
