ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for playing bingo consisting of a computer in combination with a transportable memory. The computer is capable of storing substantially all possible combinations of bingo cards; displaying concurrently a plurality of bingo cards; identifying a selection of a pattern of play; scanning the displayed bingo cards to identify number selections made during play of a bingo game; and signalling whether a winning selection of numbers within the selected pattern of play has been achieved. The transportable memory is capable of communicating with the computer; and identifying the bingo cards which the computer is to display. A method of use of the apparatus involves instructing the computer as to the desired pattern of play; Sequentially enter into the computer numbers called during the play of the game; and Actuating the computer to scan the displayed bingo cards to identify matches with the last called number and signal whether a winning selection of numbers within the selected pattern of play has been achieved.
