A toothbrush, either manual or powered, including an elongated member with a head at one end and a handle at the other end. The toothbrush is generally aligned along a central longitudinal axis. The head having a brush face including a brush cavity from which a plurality of bristles extend. The bristles being arranged in a plurality of bristle tufts so as to extend generally perpendicular to the central longitudinal axis. The toothbrush also includes a plurality of lateral support members extending upwardly from a base of the brush cavity. The bristles are attached to the toothbrush by an attachment device provided in the brush cavity. The attachment device engages at least one of the tufts and secures the tuft between adjacent lateral support members. The attachment device includes a bottom edge and a top edge. Each of the lateral support members extend to a predetermined height from the base of the brush cavity so as to reach at least the height of the bottom edge of said attachment device in the brush cavity.

L'invention concerne une brosse à dents, manuelle ou électrique, comprenant un élément allongé pourvu d'une tête au niveau d'une extrémité et d'un manche au niveau de l'autre extrémité. Cette brosse à dents est généralement alignée sur un axe longitudinal central. La tête possède une face de brosse pourvue d'une cavité de brosse à partir de laquelle s'étendent une pluralité de crins. Les crins sont placés dans une pluralité de touffes de crins afin qu'ils s'étendent généralement perpendiculairement à l'axe longitudinal central. Ladite brosse à dents comporte aussi une pluralité d'éléments de support latéraux s'étendant vers le haut à partir d'une base de la cavité de la brosse. Les crins sont fixés sur la brosse à dents au moyen d'un dispositif de fixation situé dans la cavité de la brosse. Ce dispositif de fixation rentre en contact avec une des touffes et fixe la touffe entre des éléments de support latéraux adjacents. Ledit dispositif de fixation présente également un bord inférieur et un bord supérieur. Chacun des éléments de support latéraux s'étendent jusqu'à une hauteur prédéterminée à partir de la base de la cavité de la brosse, de manière à atteindre au moins la hauteur du bord inférieur dudit dispositif de fixation dans la cavité de la brosse.
