A surgical grasping instrument (100) for grasping an elongated implement (206) , which comprises a frame (106) ; an elongated member (105) connected to the frame and extending distally therefrom, the elongated member defining a longitudinal axis; and a pair of jaw members operatively (102,104) connected to the elongated member, the jaw members being adapted for movement between an open position and a closed position, at least one of the jaw members having a recess (140,142) defined therein and arranged about a central recess axis extending at an angle of about 35~ or less relative to the longitudinal axis of the elongated member, wherein upon movement of the jaw members to the closed position, the jaw members form a holding groove (G) that can engage and firmly secure the elongated implement (206).
L'invention concerne un instrument de préhension chirurgical (100) pour la préhension d'un outil allongé (206) comprenant une ossature (106); un élément allongé (105), relié à l'ossature et s'étendant de manière distale depuis ladite ossature, ledit élément allongé définissant un axe longitudinal; et une paire d'éléments de mâchoires (102,104) reliées fonctionnellement audit élément allongé, les éléments de mâchoires étant adaptés pour un déplacement entre une position ouverte et une position fermée. Au moins un des éléments de mâchoires présente une cavité (140, 142) définie à l'intérieur dudit élément, et disposée à proximité d'un axe présentant une cavité centrale s'étendant à un angle d'environ 35· ou inférieur par rapport à l'axe longitudinal de l'élément allongé. Lorsque les éléments de mâchoires se déplacent en position fermée, les éléments de mâchoires forment une rainure de retenue (G) qui peut venir en contact et se fixer solidement sur l'outil allongé (206).
