The invention concerns a method which consists in spreading the matter to be treated in the form of a thin layer on the smooth hot surface (10) of a heat exchanger (1) wall, mobile along a closed cyclical trajectory; in pressing the layer of matter against said surface to make it level and promote its spreading; and in recuperating at the end of the cycle the dry solid residues. The method is characterised in that, just before spreading, it comprises a step which consists in considerably expanding in volume the matter (M) so as to provide it with a foam-like consistency, such that it is said foam which is spread in the form of a thin layer on the hot surface (10). The invention is useful for dehydrating various matters, in particular liquid animal manure.
Selon l'invention, on épand la matière à traiter sous forme de couche mince sur la face lisse et chaude (10) d'une paroi d'échange thermique (1) qui est mobile suivant une trajectoire fermée cyclique, on écrase la couche de matière contre cette face pour la niveler et favoriser son étalement, et on récupère en fin de cycle les résidus solides et secs; l'invention est remarquable par le fait que, juste avant l'épandage, on provoque une expansion volumique important de la matière (M) afin de lui donner la consistance de mousse, de sorte que c'est cette mousse qui est épandue sous la forme d'une couche mince sur la face chaude (10). Désydratation de matières diverses, en particulier des lisiers d'élevage.
