The present invention relates to the treatment and prevention of bacteria and bacterial infections. In particular, the present invention re-lates to engineered bacteriophages used in combi-nation with antimicrobial agents to potentiate the antimicrobial effect and bacterial killing by the antimicrobial agent. The present invention gener-ally relates to methods and compositions compris-ing engineered bacteriophages and antimicrobial agents for the treatment of bacteria, and more par-ticularly to bacteriophages comprising agents that inhibit antibiotic resistance genes and/or cell sur-vival genes, and/or bacteriophages comprising re-pressors of SOS response genes or inhibitors of antimicrobial defense genes and/or expressing an agent which increases the sensitivity of bacteria to an antimicrobial agent in combination with at least one antimicrobial agent, and their use there-of.
La présente invention concerne le traitement et la prévention des bactéries et des infections bactériennes. En particulier, la présente invention concerne des bactériophages modifiés utilisés en combinaison avec des agents antimicrobiens pour potentialiser leffet antimicrobien et tuer les bactéries par lagent antimicrobien. La présente invention concerne généralement des procédés et des compositions comprenant des bactériophages modifiés et des agents antimicrobiens pour le traitement des bactéries, et plus particulièrement des bactériophages comprenant des agents qui inhibent les gènes de résistance aux antibiotiques et/ou les gènes de survie cellulaire, et/ou des bactériophages comprenant des répresseurs de gènes de réponse SOS ou des inhibiteurs de gènes de défense antimicrobiens et/ou lexpression dun agent qui augmente la sensibilité des bactéries à un agent antimicrobien en combinaison avec au moins un agent antimicrobien, et leur utilisation.
