Processes and systems for formation of high voltage, anodic oxide on a valve metal anode. The processes generally includes immersing a valve metal anode in an electrolyte forming bath comprised of a formation electrolyte, performing an anodization step; and maintaining or regulating the temperature of the formation electrolyte accurately at a temperature at or below 40~ C during the anodization step. The anodization firstly under constant current until a target potential is reached and secondly under constant potential at the target potential until the current falls below a predetermined termination current level. The systems generally include a tank configured to receive one or more anodes in an electrolyte forming bath comprised of a formation electrolyte; and a subsystem for cooling and maintaining the formation electrolyte at the desire processing temperature. The systems may further include electronic controls for monitoring and adjusting system or process parameters.
L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes destinés à former un oxyde anodique haute tension sur une anode de métal valve. De manière générale, les procédés consistent à immerger une anode de métal valve dans un bain de formation d'électrolyte contenant un électrolyte de formation, à réaliser une opération d'anodisation, et à maintenir ou réguler la température de l'électrolyte de formation avec précision à une température égale ou inférieure à 40 °C pendant l'opération d'anodisation. L'anodisation est d'abord réalisée sous un courant constant jusqu'à ce qu'un potentiel cible soit atteint, puis sous un potentiel constant au niveau du potentiel cible jusqu'à ce que le courant descende jusqu'à un niveau inférieur à un niveau de courant de terminaison prédéterminé. De manière générale, les systèmes comprennent un réservoir conçu pour recevoir une ou plusieurs anodes dans un bain de formation d'électrolyte contenant un électrolyte de formation, et un sous-système destiné à refroidir l'électrolyte de formation et à le maintenir à la température de traitement souhaitée.
