A stent assembly comprises a stent and a side branch flap. The stent has a substantially tubular body which defines a primary lumen and is comprised of a plurality of interconnected stent members. Adjacent stent members define a plurality of stent openings that extend through the body and which are in fluid communication with the primary lumen. At least one stent opening is a side branch opening. The side branch flap is a non-tubular body having a planar structure. A first region of the planar structure is overlappingly positioned across a portion of the side branch opening prior to deployment. A second region of the planar structure is engaged to a portion of the body of the stent immediately adjacent to the perimeter of the side branch opening. When the assembly is deployed the first region of the flap is displaced radially outward from the side branch opening.
L~invention concerne un ensemble de stent comprenant un stent et une patte d~embranchement latérale. Le stent possède un corps sensiblement tubulaire définissant une lumière principale et se compose d~une pluralité d~éléments de stent reliés entre eux. Des éléments de stent adjacents définissent une pluralité d~ouvertures de stent qui se prolongent à travers le corps et qui sont en communication fluidique avec la lumière principale. Au moins une ouverture de stent constitue une ouverture d~embranchement latérale. La patte d~embranchement latérale constitue un corps non tubulaire doté d~une structure plane. Préalablement au déploiement de l~ensemble, une première région de la structure plane est placée en travers d~une partie de l~ouverture d~embranchement latérale de façon à la chevaucher. Une deuxième région de la structure plane vient en prise avec une partie du corps du stent immédiatement adjacente au périmètre de l~ouverture d~embranchement latérale. Lors du déploiement de l~ensemble, la première région de la patte est écartée radialement vers l~extérieur par rapport à l~ouverture d~embranchement latérale.
