A method, within a wireless communicaton system, and a wireless MT2 device (104) which provide for the resyn-chronization of a PPP link on each one of a U m and R m interface without affecting the other of the U m and R m interface. When a handoff is performed, such that the communications of the mobile MT2 device (104) is handed off to a new BS/MSC (106), the U m interface will undergo PPP configuration renegotiation (Figure 4) without causing the R m interface also to undergo PPP configura-tion renegotiation. Similarly, when the R m interface undergoes PPP configuration renegotiation (Figure 6), the U m interface will not undergo PPP configuration renegotiation.
L'invention concerne un procédé (dans un système de communication hertzien) et un dispositif hertzien MT2 (104) permettant d'assurer la resynchronisation de protocole de liaison point à point sur chacune des interfaces Um et Rm, sans conséquence pour l'une ou l'autre de ces interfaces. En cas de transfert des communications du dispositif mobile MT2 (104) vers une autre station de base/un autre centre de commutation mobile (106), l'interface Um connaît une renégociation de configuration de protocole de liaison point à point (figure 4) sans entraîner la même renégociation pour l'interface Rm. Inversement, lorsque l'interface Rm connaît une renégociation de configuration de protocole de liaison point à point (figure 6), il n'y a pas de renégociation pour l'interface Um.
