A laminate product particu-larly useful in vehicular applications is de-scribed. The laminate product comprises a foam core having a first major surface and a second major surface. One or both of the major surfaces comprises a fibrous layer and an adhesive layer adhering the fibrous layer to the foam core. The process for pro-ducing the laminate product involves ex-posing an initial laminate product to in-frared radiation. A portion of the adhesive layer between fibres in fibrous layer being ablated. The foam laminate product has im-proved sound absorption properties and while maintaining desirable strength and stiffness properties, hi addition, in certain cases, the peel strength of the fibrous rein-forcing layer to the foam core is significant-ly improved in the present foam laminate product compared to the conventional ap-proaches.
La présente invention concerne un produit stratifié particulièrement utile dans des applications automobiles. Le produit stratifié comporte une âme en mousse présentant une première surface principale et une seconde surface principale. Lune ou les deux surfaces principales comporte(nt) une couche fibreuse et une couche adhésive entraînant ladhésion de la couche fibreuse à lâme de mousse. Le procédé pour la production du produit stratifié comprend lexposition dun produit stratifié de départ à un rayonnement infrarouge, une partie de la couche adhésive entre la couche fibreuse étant éliminée. Le produit stratifié à base de mousse présente des propriétés dabsorption sonore améliorées tout en maintenant des propriétés de résistance et de rigidité souhaitables. En outre, dans certains cas, la résistance à lexfoliation de la couche fibreuse de renfort à lâme de mousse est nettement améliorée dans le produit stratifié à base de mousse selon la présente invention comparée aux techniques classiques.
