The present invention provides a flexible bag (10) comprising at least one sheet of flexible sheet material assembled to form a semi-enclosed container having an interior surface, an exterior surface, an opening having a peripheral edge (28), and a support-engagement feature (30) located on the exterior surface at least partially surrounding the peripheral edge. The support-engagement feature comprises a strip of material having a first side facing outwardly from the exterior surface and a second side facing inwardly toward the interior surface. The first side exhibits an adhesion peel force after activation by a user which is greater than an adhesion peel force exhibited prior to activation by a user. The support-engagement feature preferably at least partially, and more preferably fully, circumferentially surrounds the peripheral edge. The selectively-activatible support-engagement feature also preferably functions as a closure means (40) to secure the opening of the flexible bag in a substantially closed condition when the bag material is gathered about the opening, thus providing for ease of sealability without the need for additional closure features or separate elements. Additional closure means may be provided utilizing the selectively-activatible materials suitable for use as a support-engagement feature located on the inner surface of the peripheral edge of the bag. The support-engagement features of the present invention provide a flexible bag which is capable of reliably engaging a supporting device so it may be supported in an open condition for filling purposes. Such a feature also reduces the likelihood of trapped air and/or free space occurring when the bag is utilized with a rigid or semi-rigid durable container.
Sac souple (10) comportant au moins une feuille de matière souple assemblée pour former un récipient semi-fermé doté d'une surface interne, d'une surface externe, d'une ouverture ayant un bord périphérique (28) et d'une structure de fixation (30) sur un support située sur la surface extérieure et entourant au moins partiellement le bord périphérique. Ladite structure comporte une bande de matériau dont une première face est orientée vers l'extérieur depuis la surface extérieure et une seconde face orientée vers l'intérieur, vers la surface interne. La première face présente une force d'adhérence après activation par un utilisateur qui est supérieure à la force d'adhérence avant l'activation par un utilisateur. La structure entoure de manière circonférentielle, de préférence au moins partiellement et idéalement entièrement, le bord périphérique. Elle fonctionne également de préférence comme moyen de fermeture (40) de manière à maintenir pratiquement fermée l'ouverture du sac souple lorsque la feuille constituant le sac est rassemblée autour de l'ouverture, permettant ainsi la fermeture étanche facile sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'avoir recours à des structures de fermeture supplémentaires ou à des éléments séparés. Des dispositifs de fermeture supplémentaires utilisant le matériau à activation sélective peuvent être utilisés comme structure de fixation sur un support et sont situés sur la surface interne du bord périphérique du sac. Les structures de fixation sur un support selon la présente invention permettent d'obtenir un sac souple capable de se fixer de manière fiable sur un dispositif de support, ledit sac pouvant ainsi être supporté à l'état ouvert en vue de son remplissage. Une structure de ce type réduit également la possibilité de piéger de l'air ou de laisser un espace libre, ce qui se produit lorsque le sac est utilisé avec un récipient durable rigide ou semi-rigide.
