ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A stick for use in ice hockey or equivalent games comprising an inner core, outer layers of reinforced plastic laminated with the inner core, the inner core including a plura- lity of core pieces which together with the outer layers form a rigid assembly of an elongated handle and a blade situated at the bottom of the handle, the core pieces including an elongated core piece of hard-wearing material extending along the entire lenght of the bottom of the blade for directly engaging ice or the like. The hard-wearing core piece extends downwardly beyond the outer layers laminated with the inner core so that only the lower edge of the hard-wearing core piece is exposed at the bottom edge re- gion of the blade, whereby upon wearing of the hard-wearing core piece the outer layers laminated with the inner core are not af- fected.
