A method is described for estimating the motion for image sequences carrying out a decimation of the function used for the extraction of the characteristic parameters of an image block. The method is iterated by decreasing the function decimation and carrying out the block-matching on a set of the best matchings of the preceding steps. The method does not require the recalculation of the parameters on the referenceimage for each block to be matched; moreover, in the extraction of the characteristic parameters of a block, the use of the Integral Projections is notmandatory but one of the possible variants only (Fig. 1).
L'invention décrit une méthode d'estimation du filage d'une séquences d'image qui consiste à effectuer une réduction de la fonction utilisée pour extraire les paramètres qui caractérisent un bloc d'images. La méthode est répétée avec atténuation de la réduction de la fonction en réalisant une mise en correspondance sur un ensemble des meilleures mises en correspondance réalisées au cours des étapes précédentes. La méthode ne commande pas de refaire le calcul des paramètres particuliers sur une image de référence de chaque bloc à mettre en correspondance; par ailleurs, au cours de l'extraction des paramètres particuliers d'un bloc, il n'est nécessaire d'utiliser des projections intégrales qui sont seulement considérées comme des variantes possibles (Fig. 1).
