A catheter insertion aid for facilitating urethral insertion of a catheter comprising a hollow device having opposing flexible sides with a slit opening running between said first end and said second end of said device. The slit opening being used for removal of the catheter insertion aid from around the catheter while the catheter is still in place in the vagina. The geometry of the first end of the device being smaller than the second end of the device allowing for easy penetration by the smaller end between the labia folds. The opposing flexible sides of the device when held in a compressed position allow for easy insertion of the device between the labia folds and with the release of the compressed position, the flexible sides expand presenting the urethra for easy insertion of the catheter. A kit containing a catheter insertion aid and a catheter is also disclosed. Alternative embodiments involving a V-shaped tapered device and a device with hinged finger cups and elevations for labia spread are disclosed.
L'invention concerne un auxiliaire d'insertion de cathéter facilitant la mise en place d'un cathéter dans l'urètre, constitué d'un dispositif creux à côtés opposés souples et une ouverture en fente entre ses première et seconde extrémité. L'ouverture en fente sert à retirer l'auxiliaire d'insertion du cathéter se trouvant autour du cathéter une fois ce dernier en place dans le vagin. De par sa géométrie, la première extrémité du dispositif est plus petite que la seconde extrémité, ce qui facilite la pénétration par la petite extrémité entre les replis des lèvres. Lorsqu'ils sont maintenus comprimés, les côtés souples opposés facilitent l'insertion dudit dispositif entre les replis des lèvres et, après relâchement, se dilatent et présentent l'urètre pour une insertion facile du dispositif. L'invention concerne également une trousse contenant un auxiliaire d'insertion de cathéter et un cathéter. Dans d'autres modes de réalisation, l'invention concerne un dispositif en V à branches coniques et un dispositif à coupelles articulées pour doigts et rehausses d'écartement des lèvres.
