A method of mapping a location of an event that is scheduled in a calendar application includes steps of identifying a contact associated with the event, determining address information associated with the contact, obtaining map data for the address information, and generating a map of the location associated with the contact based on the map data. Meeting or event locations can thus be mapped even if there is no event location or address information specified directly in the meeting request or appointment.

L'invention porte sur un procédé qui permet de cartographier l'emplacement d'un événement qui est programmé dans une application d'agenda électronique, lequel procédé consiste à : identifier un contact associé à l'événement; déterminer des informations d'adresse associées au contact; obtenir des données cartographiques correspondant aux informations d'adresse; et produire une carte de l'emplacement associé au contact sur la base des données cartographiques. L'invention permet de la sorte de cartographier les emplacements de réunions ou d'événements même lorsque des informations de localisation ou d'adresse ne sont pas directement spécifiées dans l'invitation à la réunion ou au rendez-vous.
