A flooring strip for forming a floor which is comprised of a plurality of elongated flooring strips in a side by side and end to end relationship, the flooring strip having a base member of a particle board material with upper and lower surfaces, an adhesive layer on the upper surface of the base member and a top layer preferably of a polymeric material adhered to the upper surface of the base member by the adhesive layer, the top layer having an upper surface with a wood pattern thereon, the base member of first and second opposed side walls with a tongue and groove arrangement being formed on the side walls.
