The first step in the preparation of polyamides involves anionic polymerisation of at least one lactame. In the second step, the resulting polymer, whose molar mass distribution as determined by SEC resembles a Gaussian curve with a shoulder in the higher masses, is heat treated at a temperature high enough and for a period of time long enough to obtain a unimodal distribution of the molar masses.

La préparation de polyamides est réalisée en effectuant dans une première étape la polymérisation anionique d'au moins un lactame. Sur le polymère obtenu et qui présente une répartition des masses molaires mesurées par SEC ayant une forme proche d'une courbe de GAUSS avec une trainée dans les hautes masses, on effectue ensuite dans une deuxième étape un traitement thermique à une température suffisante et pendant un temps suffisant de manière à obtenir une répartition unimodale des masses molaires.
