A collision avoidance system includes a forward terrain collision peak and selector channel indicator (92), a ground proximity peak selector (90), an aircraft collision threshold circuit (82), and a ground proximity threshold circuit (96) together with split range gates (84, 98, 104). Microwave transmission is accomplished using a pulse modulator (54) and Gunn or IMPATT diode power amplifier/oscillator (56). The warning alarm signal comes from the audible alarm and color light flicker generator (72).
