A method for preparing a diene polymer or copolymer having increased amounts of 1,2-microstructure is provided. The method involves polymerizing a diene monomer or mixture of a diene monomer and a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon monomer in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a catalytically effective amount of a catalyst composition comprising: (a) an organolithium initiator and (b) an oxolanyl cyclic acetal having the structural formula: Image wherein R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and alkyl groups containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is 0 or 1.
Méthode pour préparer un polymère ou un copolymère diénique possédant un plus grand nombre de microstructures 1,2. La méthode consiste à polymériser un monomère diénique ou un mélange d'un monomère diénique et d'un monomère d'hydrocarbure aromatique vinylique dans un solvant à base d'hydrocarbures, en présence d'une quantité efficace du point de vue catalytique d'une composition renfermant : a) un initiateur organolithié et b) un acétal cyclique oxolanylé possédant la formule développée : Image où R est choisi parmi l'ensemble constitué des groupes hydrogène et alkyle de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone, X étant 0 ou 1.
