PROCESS FOR OBTAINING STREAMS OF METHANOL, ETHANOL, N-PROPANOL AND ISOBUTANOL, FOR USE MAINLY IN PREPARING HIGH-OCTANE PRODUCTS, FROM MIXTURES CONTAINING SAID ALCOHOLS WITH WATER AND OTHER LOW-BOILING AND HIGH-BOILING COMPOUNDS Abstract From a mixture containing methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, isobutanol water and other high-boiling and low-boiling compounds, the claimed process enables three separate streams to be obtained, one an anhydrous stream consisting essentially of methanol or methanol and ethanol (I), one containing most of the n-propanol present in the feed mixture (II), and one containing most of the isobutanol present in the feed mixture (III), by using three fractionating columns, the stream (I) being withdrawn from a side point on the first column, the stream (II) being obtained from the top of the second column, and the stream (III) being obtained from the bottom of the second column.
