A biosensor for the identification of olfactants, including chemical and biological agents, perfumery, explosives and pharmaceuticals. The biosensors comprise robust eukaryotic cells, such as yeast, into which at least one exogenous olfactory signaling pathway has been genetically integrated to detect molecules of interest.
