The present invention is a hand covering that allows you to temporarily remove the thumb part of a glove in order to successfully use a mobile device without sacrificing warmth or protection. The hand covering comprises a main portion for receiving the hand of the wearer therein, and a thumb portion operatively attached to the main portion for receiving the thumb of the wearer therein. The thumb portion is selectively and at least partially detachable from the main portion to allow the thumb of the wearer to access the area external to the hand covering.
