A retractable blood collection device having a housing (10) comprised of relatively notatable parts and a hub (60) in the housing (10) supporting a double ended cannula (80) which is retracted by spring pressure into the housing (10) when the housing parts are rotated to contain the used cannula (80) in the housing (10) for safe disposal.
