A device and method are provided for correcting a requested volume of liquid to aspirate/dispense by a liquid handling pipette based on the requested volume and/or a physical condition at the pipette. The pipette includes a piston drive mechanism configured to contact a piston assembly and move a piston rod of the piston assembly within a tip holder thereby causing regulation of an amount of liquid in the tip holder. The method includes selecting a requested volume at a pipette, the requested volume representing the amount of liquid to regulate, calculating a correction volume using a volume characterization, wherein the volume characterization characterizes a difference in the amount of the liquid regulated in the tip holder as a function of the requested volume, and displaying the correction volume to a user of the pipette thereby regulating the requested volume of liquid in the tip holder. The volume characterization is determined using a calibration process.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé permettant de corriger un volume demandé de liquide à aspirer/distribuer par une pipette de manipulation de liquide, sur la base du volume demandé et/ou d'un état physique au niveau de la pipette. Cette pipette comporte un mécanisme d'entraînement de piston configuré pour être en contact avec un ensemble piston et déplacer une tige de piston de l'ensemble piston à l'intérieur d'un porte-pointe, provoquant ainsi la régulation d'une quantité de liquide dans ce dernier. Le procédé consiste à sélectionner un volume demandé au niveau d'une pipette, le volume demandé représentant la quantité de liquide à réguler, à calculer un volume de correction à l'aide d'une caractérisation volumique, cette caractérisation volumique caractérisant une différence dans la quantité du liquide régulé dans le porte-pointe en fonction du volume demandé, et à afficher le volume de correction à l'intention d'un utilisateur de la pipette, régulant ainsi le volume demandé de liquide dans le porte-pointe. Ladite caractérisation volumique est déterminée au moyen d'un processus d'étalonnage.
