Apparatus and method for non-invasive diagnosis of cardiovascular and related disorders. The system establishes a correspondence between the dynamics of the wave contour of the arterial pressure pulse and the associated disease states. The system comprises an input module, a contour signal receiver, and a processing module. The input module utilizes a pressure transducer for taking a non-invasive measurement of the arterial pulse. The contour signal receiver amplifies, digitizes and normalizes the arterial pressure pulse signal. In the processing module, the normalized arterial pressure contour is subjected to wavelet analysis, which transforms the dynamics of the time series of arterial blood pressure contour into multi-resolution wavelet coefficients or signatures. The processing module includes a neural network which is trained to associate the diagnostic features of the transformed arterial pressure contour embedded in the coefficients with a disease condition. After the learning phase, the system is capable of diagnosing known cardiovascular conditions in patients.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé de diagnostic non invasif de troubles cardio-vasculaires et de troubles associés. Le système établit une correspondance entre les dynamiques de contour de l'onde de la pulsation de pression artérielle et les états pathologiques associés. Le système comprend un module d'entrée, un récepteur de signal de contour et un module de traitement des données. Le module d'entrée utilise un transducteur de pression afin de mesurer, de manière non invasive, la pulsation artérielle. Le récepteur de signal de contour amplifie, numérise et normalise le signal de pulsation de pression artérielle. Dans le module de traitement des données, le contour de pression artérielle normalisé est soumis à un traitement par ondelettes qui transforme les dynamiques de séries temporelles du contour de pression de sang artériel en coefficients d'ondelette haute résolution ou signatures. Le module de traitement de données comprend un réseau neuronal entraîné à associer les caractéristiques de diagnostic du contour transformé de pression artérielle attaché aux coefficients, à un état pathologique.
