A medical item tracking method including storing inventory levels of items which are for use in medical proce-dures and receiving input for reserving the use of a facility for a medical procedure, which medical procedure is projected to use at least one of the inventoried items. The input identifies at least one individual projected to participate in the medical procedure. The method further includes retrieving data relating to the predicted usage of the inventoried item in the medical procedure, wherein the data is based upon the participation of the at least one individual. The method further includes adjusting the levels of inventory based upon the retrieved predicted usage data.

L'invention concerne un procédé de suivi d'éléments médicaux comportant une étape consistant à mémoriser des niveaux de stocks d'éléments destinés à être utilisés dans des actes médicaux et recevant une saisie en vue de réserver l'utilisation d'une installation pour un acte médical, ledit acte médical étant appelé à utiliser au moins un des éléments inventoriés. La saisie identifie au moins un individu appelé à participer à l'acte médical. Le procédé comporte en outre une étape consistant à récupérer des données relatives à l'usage prévisionnel de l'élément inventorié dans l'acte médical, lesdites données étant basées sur la participation dudit ou desdits individus. Le procédé comporte en outre une étape consistant à ajuster les niveaux de stocks sur la base des données d'usage prévisionnel récupérées.
