The present invention relates to an Antimicrobial Maple Sap Spout with controlled release metal or metal ions with antimicrobial properties, to be used in the collection of Maple Tree Sap for the production of maple syrup and maple syrup products. The spout is a molded polymer spout that has a diameter of 5/16 inch. One end is inserted into a 5/16 inch tap hole that has been drilled into a maple tree. The other end is connected to maple sap tubing. There are many types and configurations of maple sap tapping spouts in production today the dimensions of which are not critical and may be varied . However it is the addition of the controlled release antimicrobial metal or metal ions within the spout that is key to this spouts performance.
