Process for treating a gas containing acid gases, wherein: (a) at least a fraction of the gas is contacted with a methanol-containing aqueous phase, the gas being thus charged with methanol at the end of stage (a), (b) the gas from stage (a) is contacted, in an absorption column, with a mixture of solvents comprising methanol water and a solvent heavier than methanol, the gas flowing from the top of said absorption column being thus at least partly freed from the acid gases it contains at the beginning of the process prior to stage (a), the mixture of solvents flowing out at the bottom of said absorption column being charged with acid gases, (c) the mixture of solvents from stage (b) is at least partly regenerated through pressure reduction and/or heating by releasing at least partly the acid gases, the at least partly regenerated mixture of solvents being recycled to stage (b) at the end of stage (c), and (d) the gas from stage (b) is cooled by producing at least a methanol-containing aqueous phase which is at least partly recycled to stage (a), said process being characterized in that, in stage (b), the mixture of solvents flowing out at the bottom of said absorption column is cooled, then re-introduced at a higher level of said absorption column so as to control the temperature in said absorption column.

Procédé de traitement d'un gaz contenant des gaz acides dans lequel : (a) au moins une fraction du gaz est mise en contact avec une phase aqueuse contenant du méthanol, le gaz étant ainsi chargé en méthanol à la sortie de l'étape (a), (b) le gaz sortant de l'étape (a) est mis en contact, dans une colonne d'absorption, avec un mélange de solvants comprenant du méthanol, de l'eau et un solvant plus lourd que le méthanol, le gaz sortant en tête de ladite colonne d'absorption étant ainsi au moins en partie débarrassé des gaz acides qu'il contient à l'entrée dans le procédé avant l'étape (a), le mélange de solvants sortant en fond de ladite colonne d' absorption étant chargé en gaz acides, (c) le mélange de solvants provenant de l'étape (b) est au moins en partie régénéré par réduction de la pression et/ou chauffage en libérant au moins en partie les gaz acides, le mélange de solvants au moins partiellement régénéré étant, à l'issue de l'étape (c), recyclé à l'étape (b), et (d) le gaz provenant de l'étape (b) est réfrigéré en produisant au moins une phase aqueuse contenant du méthanol qui est au moins en partie recyclée à l'étape (a), ledit procédé étant caractérisé en ce que, dans l'étape (b), le mélange de solvants sortant en fond de ladite colonne d'absorption est refroidi puis réintroduit à un niveau supérieur de ladite colonne d'absorption, de manière à contrôler la température dans ladite colonne d'absorption.
