The invention relates to a strip casting plant with a circulating belt. In the cooling area, the belt is sucked against carriers by a negative pressure in the cooler. Formerly used carriers were designed as supporting rollers and had a profiled surface, the profiling being substantially composed of grooves of a width which corresponded to the width of the portions of larger diameter. This could not sufficiently reduce thermal stresses. The strip curved up from the supporting roller. This worsened heat transfer and imprinted a profile corresponding to the upward curvature onto the thin cast strip. In the strip casting plant according to the invention it is envisaged to arrange the carriers in such a way that, with given mechanical properties of the circulating belt, a deflection that compensates for the thermal elongation takes place between the supporting surfaces.
L'invention concerne une installation de coulée de feuillards sur une bande en défilement. Dans la zone de refroidissement, la bande est aspirée contre le support par une pression négative dans le refroidisseur. Les supports utilisés dans le passé étaient des rouleaux de support et avaient une surface profilée constituée essentiellement de rainures dont la largeur correspondait à la largeur des sections de plus grand diamètre. Cette conception ne permettait pas de réduire suffisamment les tensions thermiques et la bande se cintrait sur le rouleau de support, au détriment du transfert de chaleur. Un profil correspondant au cintrage de la bande était imprimé au feuillard de faible épaisseur. Dans l'installation décrite de coulée de feuillards, les supports sont espacés de façon à créer une courbure entre les surfaces de support qui contrecarre l'allongement thermique, compte tenu des propriétés mécaniques connues de la bande en défilement.
