Dental anesthetic injection apparatus and methods for administering dental injections are disclosed. One embodiment comprises a portable device comprising a foot pedal, a control unit and a delivery head which receives a disposable cartridge of dental anesthetic and connects with a disposable syringe kit. The portability of this unit facilitates placing the dental cartridge within the dentist~s field of vision while administering an injection. This and other embodiments provide a pen-grip type of needle grip which is movable independently of the anesthetic cartridge, and a programmable flow rate. Other embodiments comprise delivery heads mountable on dental equipment or fixtures, such as the dental chair.
L'invention concerne un appareil d'injection anesthésique dentaire et des procédés d'administration d'injections dentaires. Selon un mode de réalisation, l'appareil comporte un dispositif portable comprenant une pédale, une unité de commande et une tête de délivrance qui reçoit une cartouche jetable d'un anesthésique dentaire et est reliée à un kit de seringue jetable. La portabilité de cette unité facilite la mise en place de la cartouche dentaire dans le champ de vision du dentiste au cours de l'administration d'une injection. Selon ce mode de réalisation et d'autres modes de réalisation, on dispose d'un élément de préhension de l'aiguille de type crayon qui est mobile indépendamment de la cartouche anesthésique et d'une vitesse d'écoulement programmable. Selon d'autres modes de réalisation, des têtes de délivrance sont montées sur un équipement ou des supports dentaires, tels qu'un fauteuil de dentiste.
