A molded article for protecting a transition section of a multi-wire cable (10). The article comprises a transition cover (30) having an elastomeric skin and further comprising a cable receiving tube (40), having an open channel therein. The cable receiving tube has intersection with each of a plurality of wire cover sleeves (36) to provide passage openings from the open channel of the cable receiving tube to each of the plurality of wire cover sleeves (36) for insertion of at least one wire of the multi-wire cable therein. A stress relief pocket (50) formed in the elastomeric skin, adjacent to at least a portion of each intersection, extends towards the open channel and includes at least one crease to accommodate expansion of the stress relief pocket from a partially folded condition to reduce the concentration of stress at an intersection during movement of the transition cover from a relaxed condition to a stretched condition.
La présente invention a trait à un article moulé destiné à la protection d'un tronçon de transition d'un câble à fils multiples (10). L'article comporte un gaine de transition (30) présentant une enveloppe élastomère et comprenant en outre un tube de réception de câble (40), dans lequel est prévu un canal ouvert. Le tube de réception de câble présente une intersection avec chacun d'une pluralité de manchons de gaine de fils (36) pour réaliser des ouvertures de passage depuis le canal ouvert du tube de réception de câble vers chacun d'une pluralité de manchons de gaine de fils (36) pour l'introduction d'au moins un fil du câble à fils multiples. Une poche de détente (50) formée dans l'enveloppe élastomère, adjacente à au moins une portion de chaque intersection, s'étend vers le canal ouvert et comprend au moins un pli pour s'adapter à la dilatation de la poche de détente depuis un état partiellement replié pour réduire la concentration d'une contrainte au niveau d'une intersection vers un état tendu.
