ABSTRACT A magnetic disc substrate comprising a thermotropic liquid crystal polymer composition is produced by charging the said composition into a cavity of a disc-shaped mold having a smooth inner surface and held at a temperature in the range of 100° to 240°C, in a molten condition under a high shear rate, the said thermotropic liquid crystal polymer composition containing as the said thermo- tropic liquid crystal polymer a (co)polymer which contains the following repeating unit as a monomer unit, and also containing an inorganic filler, then by increasing the mold clamping pressure if necessary, pressurizing the molten resin which is in contact with at least one disc face in the mold vertically through the said disc face, and thereafter cooling the resin: Image .
