A method and system for the negotiating of transportation contracts between shippers and carriers is implemented via a computer network preferably the Internet. Through an Internet web site interface, a shipper can post a request for quotation (RFQ), soliciting bids for a plurality of transportation lanes and approved carriers through an automated bidding and negotiation process.
La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant de négocier des contrats de transport entre des expéditeurs et des transporteurs, mis en oeuvre via un réseau d'ordinateurs, de préférence via Internet. Au moyen d'une interface de site web, un expéditeur peut poser une demande d'appel d'offre, sollicitant des offres de parcours de transport auprès d'une pluralité de transporteurs agréés par un processus de négociation et d'offres informatisé. Les transporteurs peuvent ensuite voir cet appel d'offre, identifier les parcours pour lesquels ils souhaitent faire une offre de service, puis ils peuvent soumettre leur offre à l'aide de l'interface du site web. Lorsque la période de dépôt des offres est close, l'expéditeur peut, à l'aide de cette même interface de site web, visionner toutes les offres et tous les parcours alloués de façon à choisir des transporteurs. Utilisant encore cette interface de site web, chaque transporteur peut finalement voir les choix qui ont été faits et choisir de les accepter ou de ne pas les accepter.
