The present invention relates to a method for identifying and/or characterizing a (poly)peptide comprising: (a) analyzing a peptide map of said (poly)peptide, comprising at least 1 peptide, and its peptide primary structure fingerprint by mass spectrometry; and (b) comparing data obtained in step (a) with a reference (poly)peptide database, said database comprising mass spectrometric data of peptide maps, comprising at least 1 peptide, and of its peptide primary structure fingerprint, of a (poly)peptide or of a variety of (poly)peptides.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant d'identifier et/ou de caractériser un (poly)peptide, consistant: (a) à analyser une carte peptidique dudit (poly)peptide, laquelle carte comprend au moins un peptide, et son empreinte de structure peptidique primaire par spectrométrie de masse; puis (b) à comparer les données obtenues à l'étape (a) avec une base de données de (poly)peptides de référence, comprenant les données de spectrométrie de masse relatives aux cartes peptidiques comprenant au moins un peptide, et à sa structure peptidique primaire, et à un (poly)peptide ou à divers (poly)peptides.
