An energy absorbing barrier system comprises a plurality of composite concrete barriers, each barrier including a reinforced concrete section having a back wall upon a support base. The support base is connected to a concrete veneer face section having an upper portion and a lower portion. The face section forwardly slopes from the support base to form an obtuse angle therewith such that the upper portion of the face section extends at least partially over the lower portion of the face section. The back wall and the face section defines an intermediate center core section therebetween consisting of a light density crushable material. The connection of the concrete veneer face section to the support base has a sheer point that facilitates the collapsing in of the face into the intermediate core section.
Système de barrières d'amortissement comprenant plusieurs barrières composites en béton, chaque barrière compte une section de béton armé possédant une paroi arrière sur une base. La base est reliée à une section avant en placage de béton ayant une partie supérieure et une partie inférieure. La section avant est inclinée vers l'avant à partir de la base de façon à former un angle obtus avec cette dernière de sorte que la partie supérieure de la section avant s'étend, au moins en partie, sur la partie inférieure de la section avant. La paroi arrière et la section avant délimitent, entre elles, une section intermédiaire à âme centrale composée d'un matériau déformable de faible densité. La liaison de la section avant en placage de béton à la base comporte un point de cisaillement qui facilite l'écrasement vers l'intérieur de la section avant en placage de béton dans la section intermédiaire à âme centrale.
