A wind turbine (100) having a tower (110) and a nacelle (120), includes at least one unit (210) to be heated or cooled. The unit (210) can be housed within the tower (110) or nacelle (120). A geothermal heat exchanger (150) can also be located inside the tower (110) or nacelle (1200. A geothermal cooling circuit (160) provides flow communication between the unit (210) to be heated or cooled and the heat exchanger (150), and contains a thermal transfer medium flowing between the unit (210) and the heat exchanger (150) for facilitating heating or cooling of the unit (210).
