A polystyrene polymer crosslinked by 1.5 % to 8 % with divinylbenzene based on the total weight of the polymer and having a minimum weight average molecular weight of 10000 wherein 50 to 100 % of the aromatic groups of the polystyrene are substituted by at least one -(R1)n?-NHR2 group wherein R1 represents a straight or branched chain alkylene or cycloalkylene group of 1 to 6 carbon atoms and n is 0 or 1 and NHR2 represents a guanidino group of formula -NH-C(-NH)NH2 or a biguanidino group of formula -NH-C(=NH)-NH--C(=NH)-NH2 for use in therapy.

On décrit un polymère de polystyrène réticulé dans une proportion de 1,5 à 8 % d'après le poids total du polymère, avec du divinylbenzène, et possédant un poids moléculaire moyen minimal de 10000, 50 à 100 % des groupes aromatiques du polystyrène étant substitués par au moins un groupe -(R<1>)n-NHR<2> dans lequel R<1> représente un groupe alkylène ou cycloalkylène à chaîne droite ou ramifiée, possédant 1 à 6 atomes de carbone, n vaut 0 ou 1, et NHR<2> représente un groupe guanidino de la formule -NH-C-(=NH)NH2 ou un groupe biguanidino de la formule -NH-C(=NH)-NH-C(=NH)-NH2. Ce polymère est utile en thérapie.
